Beyond the stone bridge, the artist has painted a range of mountains where the artist colored them a muted purple-gray set against a robin's egg blue sky in order to give the mountains a sense of distance from the stone bridge - the large trees filled with green colored foliage located on the left & right of the foreground also is an artistic technique for showing distance as well as scale & size of the other elements in the painting. The painting itself is in very good antique condition & has been recently professionally cleaned to get rid of the old dirt & smoke residue that was on the original overly-darkened varnish - thereafter, the painting was re-varnished - it measures 12" x 18" sight size - the painting is greatly enhanced by its original ornate gesso on wood frame that has been repainted at some point in the past - the frame is in very good antique condition & measures 17" x 24".
