C1851 oil painting on canvas of a Bay Hunter in a landscape by John E Ferneley 1782 - 1860. In good clean condition, relined in the last 30 years, some craquelure commensurate with age. Measures 25" x 30" and 30 3/4" x 35 3/4" in its good Victorian gilt frame. (18 May 1782 Thrussington, Leicestershire 1860 Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire), was an English painter who specialised in portraying sporting horses and hunting scenes.
