He is the younger brother of the painter Raphaël Ponson. Aimé Ponson is the student of his brother Raphaël Ponson. From 1876 he exhibited at the Salon des artistes français; in 1903 he obtained an honorable mention for Le rat retiré du monde according to La Fontaine. He also exhibits in the provinces where he obtains many awards (gold medal in Marseille, silver medal in Aix-en-Provence and Montpellier).
