Antique'87 Oil Painting on Tin Seascape Lighthouse Magnificent Gold Gesso Frame. The lower left corner is signed with artist initials CTP and'87 for year 1887. The wonderful Victorian frame measures 14 3/4" x 17 3/4" and the tin painting itself is about 9 1/4" x 12 1/4". The oil has spots of paint wear - lower left and top right with neither affecting the important areas of the scene. There is also some wear to the right edge of the paint. The frame is in quite good condition with very minimal wear and a nice aged patina. See my 12 detailed photos. The previous owner told me this is a depiction of Minot Light Cohasset Mass. The scene shows dark stormy ocean waves breaking on rocky coast and pummeling the lighthouse.
