Antique Oil On Canvas Early American Portrait Painting Handsome Dignified Man

This masterful portrayal of a prosperous and dignified man of the worls seated in a red-painted empire chair dates to the second quarter of the 19th c. And measures 30" x 25" actual; 35" x 30" in its neoclassical gilt wood picture frame. Its frame dates from the early to middle 20th century and shows wear and dirt that comlement the work nicely. It received a long scratch on the right in a recent move that will readily touch in and there are some varnish irregularities.
