Antique Old 19th c. Hudson River School Folk Art Oil Painting, Niagara Falls

This is a wonderful and finely rendered Antique Old 19th c. Hudson River School Folk Art Oil Painting on canvas, laid on Masonite board, depicting a magnificent landscape scene of the renowned Niagara Falls. This work depicts the powerful river waters cascading downward, with several onlookers viewing from the nearby ledges, and a small steamboat at the bottom of the falls. In the distance, heavily wooded areas, small cottages, and a stoic lighthouse are visible. This work is very reminiscent and channels the style of Hudson River School painter Edmund C.

Coates, in his 1850 work Niagara Falls (1850) Last Photo of Listing. This particular piece likely dates to the second half of the 19th century. This work appears to be unsigned, but perhaps you recognize the painter or their work? This artist is likely American, and trained in the Hudson River School style, based on its application and age.

Approximately 33 x 40 inches including frame. Actual artwork is approximately 22 3/4 x 29 3/4 inches. Very good condition for over a century of age, with mild craquelure in some places, a few tony spots of paint loss or discoloration, and some mild scuffing and edge wear to the ornate gilded frame please see photos.
