A finely and dramatically painted evocation of Carlo Cignani's 1678 painting,''Joseph and the Wife of Potiphar'', from Genesis 39. The male subject appears here fully clothed and his female tempter is semi-naked and embracing him whilst he throws his hands up to heaven in desperation. In good condition commensurate with age and h oused in a good gilt frame, ready to hang. The image dimensions are approximately: 24 1/2'' x 24 1/2'' (62cm x 62cm).
