Original Antique Oil Painting by Spanish Artist Jose Franco Cordero (1851-1910)
It is most likely from circa 1890, as that appears to be when he was most active. This painting is a painting of a summer or sprint landscape with Spanish architecture and red tiled roofs in the background, likely a view from a garden or park. This is painted in a very Impressionistic style, with loose brush strokes that capture the light and sun. His name is listed in various forms, Jose Franco Cordero, and Francisco Cordero, but they refer to the same artist. Disciple of José Jiménez Aranda. Studied at the Fine Arts School of Seville and at the Academia of San Fernando in Madrid.

He specialized in landscape and genre scenes, and painted in a fluid, Impressionistic style, and participated in several exhibitions, such as the Spanish National Fine Arts Exhibition of 1878, 1881, and 1892, where he won a third place prize. One of his works, Paisaje, 1890 is in the Prado Museum collection, Madrid. Measurements: 32 1/4 x 18 1/2 inches, including frame; canvas: 31 1/2 x 17 3/4 inches.
